The sea turtle, scientifically named Chelonia Mydas, is on the government's list of endangered, precious, and rare species prioritized for protection.

The turtle, which was over 1.1 meters in length and 60 centimeters in width, was in a state of decay.

An official in the city said that the mature turtle was female and weighed about 80 kilograms.

The reptile was believed to have died a few days before being found.

A long slash was found on the turtle’s shell.

The turtle was thought to be hurt by the propeller of a ship while it was swimming.
